"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a hope and a future."

summer....

....has come and gone and hopefully this heat is not far behind it!  Summer was a whirlwind of fun, swim lessons, visits with dear friends, relaxation, visits with family and staying cool.  I enjoyed the time off with my sweet Sofia AND we welcomed the arrival of our newest blessing... Juliet Grace.

Stay tuned as I play blog catch up... but until then here is a sneek peek of our two precious girls  :)

Sweet Treat!

One very hot day, we decided we needed to go out and enjoy a (very) sweet and cool treat from the popular Sweet Sammies.  You choose a scoop of Bluebell ice cream and it is mushed between your choice of two homeade cookies.  This was the first of soon-to-be MANY visits! Yum.

Easter 2011

Easter this year was fun, busy and quick!  Sofia enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt at Mrs. Nikki's with her friends on Friday.....then we drove to see family to have an egg hunt with the cousins - who we always enjoy! - and then made a trip back home to celebrate Easter Sunday at our church and relax at home.

Game Show Contestant

Sometimes Sofia will randomly stack toys or other objects (but not in an obsessive way  :)  ).....she's getting really good that I may consider her for "Minute to Win It"  ;)

Daddy's Little Helper

Sofia has become Steven's little helper in the garden.......

Making friends with the owl that helps scare the birds away......

This is probably one of my favorites..... she needs her foot to help dig her hole  ;)

Broccoli!!!

Bluebonnets 2011

Bluebonnet pictures are one of my favorite things to do in the spring.  There is this patch of bluebonnets near our home so on our way to breakfast one Saturday morning, we decided to stop.  The little rocking chair was Steven's grandfather's when he was wee-bitty and thought it would be a fun prop.

Sofia is not fond of walking in tall grass - as you can see her right leg is trying to go over the flowers.

Finally - in the chair!

Three Words...

When I have a chance to watch Good Morning America, my favorite section of the show is when families send in videos showing three words that capture the exciting moment that is taking place in their lives at that time.  Some of them are quite tear jerkers, but I love the way it all comes down to simplicity in their description showing their gratitude, desires or love by just using three words.

Although this is not Good Morning America, I decided to use the idea to share our Three Words that described the excitement for today.....

Our 2nd sweet bundle of baby girl will join us in August!
We are so excited, so grateful and so blessed!

P.S. - two of the three pictures Sofia is saying "Cheeeeeese"

The Dentist

Last week was Sofia's first dentist visit.  We had originally scheduled it for a month ago but was cancelled since it fell in the week of the crazy snow/ice weather we experienced.

To prepare her, we began talking about the dentist a few days before.  We practiced showing our teeth, opening our mouths wide and giving us a chance to see inside her mouth.  The day before, we went to Barnes and Noble to read books about dentists, teeth, the big chair, bright lights and so on.

I was surprised of how excited she was in the car on our way there but really hoped it would last when she met Dr. Stroud and his associates.

I am pleased to say that I was so impressed with Dr. Stroud and his staff.  He is a kind and gentle man and oozes with love for his job.  He didn't make Sofia sit in the chair or shine the bright light at her.... he just simply followed her lead as much as she would let him.

All in all, it was a great visit.... and we go back in 6 months where she will receive an actual cleaning from the oral hygenist (which I cannot believe!)  ..... and so begins my book search about teeth cleaning ;o)

After I explained I was "one of those moms" with the camera in my hand  - he laughed and explained he had seen everything from iphones to video cameras and welcomed my photo taking as he examined Sofia's mouth.

Here is a slide show of her visit...... I was so proud of her cooperation!  :o)
